Saturday February 7, 2009 was the AVFD appreciation supper. Certificates of years, most meetings/trainings, and most runs were given out by Jim Krantz, Fire Chief and Larry Weis, Fire Board president.

Jim Krantz gave a report of the years accomplishments. Below is a list of some of those plus purchases that was made in 2008 to update their department.

Thermos Imaging Camera - Floating Strainer - K-12 Ventilation Saw
New Pagers - 2 SCBAs - Upgraded computer for severe weather
Adult CPR Manikin - 2 Ice Rescue Suits & Ropes

These items were purchased through grants, private donations and by the fire board.

Zach Clear became an EMT-B - Sheila Brown upgraded to an EMT-I Ben Clear & Gary Hansen completed a Confined Space Rescue Class - Keith & Sheila Brown, Gary Hansen, Rob Hull & Jim Krantz completed and are Certified Ice Rescuers.

Monte Parrott attended the most runs in 2008, making 113 out of 126 (90%). Five members made 100% of the meetings & three made 100 % of the trainings. Congratulations to all the members of AVFD.
